Terminal Reality and the Infernal Machine

Terminal Reality are pretty proud of their in-house Infernal Engine.  They used the development platform for their upcoming Ghostbusters game, and it apparently worked out so well that they’ll soon be licensing it to other developers.

The Infernal Engine is compatible with the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.  While taking advantage of each system’s hardware capabilities, the engine also includes advanced physics and particle systems as well as environmental rendering.  Like any development platform, the goal of the Infernal Engine is to help developers churn out prettier, more functional games across more platforms and in less time than it would otherwise take.

From what we’ve seen of Ghostbusters so far, the engine does indeed look impressive.  Hopefully the tech demo Terminal Reality is currently shopping around will prove that it’s not just good for rendering the neon glory of ghostbusting streams and Harold Ramis’ ’80s hair.
