Bioware Feel Your Pain: Founders Think ‘There’s Too Many Games’

See, even the rich and famous don’t have the time to keep up with everything they’d like to do! Develop have done a quick interview pitching a few questions at Bioware founders Dr Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk, and one amusing answer most of the internet’s picked up on is the duo noting wryly there are just too many games out these days.

For us, we have to play our games, play competitor’s games, play other relevant games, and play the handful of games we just really want to play more of and finish. I try and play two-or three hours a night, but that’s hard and it’s not enough

Awww. Seriously, though, core gamers suffer quite a bit from the strange compulsion to play everything now, now, now so when you’re following every new release to further your career as well as just kick back and have fun, I can imagine it’s doubly frustrating. I’ve read several developers talking about how they barely have enough time to make games, much less play them.

Lol, I can imagine. Just look at the line up for 2011:

    - Crysis 2
    - Deus Ex: Human Revolution
    - Brink
    - Homefront
    - Uncharted 3 (Most probably)
    - Dragon Age 2
    - Ghost Reacon: Future Warrior
    - Shogun 2 Total War

    To many!

And what a problem to have. Either they are playing games or making them.

Ok I joke. It is a lot of work working on a game and some of those people work very long hours. I could see how it would be tough to manage but it’s do-able, just not easy.

But still, what a problem to have. :)
