EA Dice’s Battlefield 4 is nearing release and now we know exactly when the open beta is coming. EA also released a new MP trailer today as well.
I originally posted this a few moments ago about how Battlefield’s 4 open beta was coming October 1st, but that information was slightly wrong now that EA has clarified. Both the closed and open beta are set to come out in early October, but it is unclear what the difference is between the two different betas. The open beta will be landing on October 4th, while the closed beta will be on October 1st.
The open beta will feature the Siege of Shanghai map, seen momentarily below, which is a fairly large map full of destructible objects. It has sea, aerial, vehicular and infantry combat, so even though those in the open beta will only have one map to try they will still be able to try out a variety of gameplay. This map will have the classic Conquest Mode and Domination Mode. This open beta will also be available on consoles as well as PC.
The Battlefield 4 beta FAQ details all of that, while EA’s new BF4 post reveals the dates. The closed beta is only available to those BF4 pre-ordered, BF3 premium or bought Medal of Honor: Warfighter. It seems as if the closed beta only gives a three day head start.
Battlefield 4 will be releasing on October 29th in NA and November 1st in Europe. Take a look at the Siege of Shangai map in action along with plenty of other maps in the new MP trailer that was released today. Looking for more? We have plenty of other information on Battlefield 4 if you are interested.
