Dishonored: Game of the Year Edition sneaking out in October

Bethesda Softworks has announced Dishonored: Game of the Year Edition. It will be released in early October and will include all of the game’s DLC.

Two great games are now getting game of the year releases, and both are coming out on the same day.

Bethesda Softworks announced that Arkane Studios’ acclaimed stealth-action game Dishonored will be getting a “Game of the Year Edition.” It will include the full game and all official DLC such as Dunwall City Trials, The Knife of Dunwall, The Brigmore Witches, and Void Walker’s Aresenal.

Dishonored: The Game of the Year Edition will retail for $39.99 and will be out in North America on Oct. 8 for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. The game will also hit Europe on Oct. 11 and will cost €39.99/£29.99/$69.95 AUD on the Xbox 360 and PS3, and €29.99/£24.99/$49.95 AUD on PC.

Those interested in getting Dishonored: Game of the Year Edition on launch day will also get a chance to pick up Borderlands 2: Game of the Year Edition as both games just so happen to have the exact same release dates. So that’s great timing on the publishers’ part.

“Dishonored introduced a new world and cast of characters which have really resonated with gamers around the world since its release in October 2012,” said Bethesda’s vice president of marketing and PR Pete Hines in a press release. “We’re now excited to offer people the opportunity to have all of this great content in one package.”

When Dishonored first came out, BeefJack’s editor-in-chief Jamie Donnelly gave the game a “Flawed Gem” badge in his review, while BeefJack’s Mark Seymour nominated it for Game of the Year. I personally liked Dishonored, but the stealth, like with all stealth games, was frustrating at times.
