Valve is going to court, Microsoft reversed another one of its policies, and Thief’s development may not be as grim as we thought.
James, Anthony, and Leo discuss a somewhat busier newsweek than we’ve had in a while. They kick off discussion with the Federation of German Consumers taking Valve to court over the willingness to sell pre-owned digital games. None believe the case will win, and they’re not positive anyone actually cares whether or not you can sell them. Talk moves to Microsoft opening the Xbox One for self-publishing, and they aren’t too sure how this will turn out in the end, but they’re sure it will have issues since Microsoft keeps shoehorning things in to keep up with Sony and the PS4. Lastly, Eidos Montreal’s founder leaves with plenty to say about Square Enix but comforts concern about Thief development saying, basically, it’s not as bad as we think.
For what we’ve been playing, James discussed his disappointment in the Sleeping Dogs DLC and Leo played Metro: Last Light and is enjoying it. Anthony and Leo played R.I.P.D. The Game to their disappointment and Anthony played indie puzzle game Trichrome and Ethan: Meteor Hunter, to which he and James didn’t see eye-to-eye about.
