Single player DLC for Aliens: Colonial Marines is quietly released, probably in the hope that we all wouldn’t notice.
The latest and last piece of DLC has been released with essentially no fanfare for Aliens: Colonial Marines, a single-player campaign called Stasis Interrupted.
It’s described as: “‘Stasis Interrupted’ is the final piece of Aliens™: Colonial Marines DLC telling the story of what happened to Hicks between Aliens™ and Alien³™. In this new campaign you play as 3 different characters through an interlocking story. Waking up unexpectedly from hypersleep, Lisbeth and others must figure out why the spaceship they are on, the Legato, has been diverted to intercept the Sulaco leaving LV-426′s orbit. Fight your way through the alien infested spaceship, find out what Michael Weyland is after and discover what truly happened to Hicks.”
This release comes on the heels of a patch that improves the single player game AI through various tweaks.
It’s no wonder that very little noise was made about this DLC, considering that Aliens: Colonial Marines has gone down as one of the more notorious flops in recent gaming memory (including a complaint to the advertising standards agency), but in spite of bad publicity it still managed to ship over 1.3million copies.
