This week’s podcast consists of lengthy discussions of World of Warcraft’s in-game store, Nolan Bushnell’s support of used games, and Nintendo’s baffling missteps with HD.
Anthony, Leo, and Sean host this week’s podcast. On the table of discussion are Blizzard’s trial with an in-game store in World of Warcraft. The crew doesn’t understand how the leader in MMO’s is simplistically adding elements that other MMO’s implemented. Discussion then turns towards Nolan Bushnell’s comparison of used games to buying clothes at a thrift shop. Anthony sees the point of view but does wonder if he’s a bit out of touch or simplifying the situation with that particular example. Lastly, the crew talks about Nintendo’s lack of preparation to HD, which has Anthony all kinds of befuddled.
For what we’ve been playing gets sidetracked a lot this week. Leo’s been playing World of Warplanes, which doesn’t take long to get sidetracked into discussion about other things. Sean has been playing The Last of Us, which, again, begins discussion about other elements of the game industry, and Anthony moans about PC and how it’s never going to be the reason consoles go away.
