BeefJack Podcast – Episode 38

James Haresign June 1, 2013 - 2:00 pm

Big Issue week for the podcast as Jamie Donnelly, James Haresign and Leo McCloskey look at Feminist Frequency and used games. Also the end of Curiosity.

In this week’s podcast, despite losing the opening 15 minutes, Jamie, Leo and James chat about Anita Sarkeesian’s Tropes vs Women in Videogames Episode 2, and James gets annoyed at her choice to take all her examples out of context, while Jamie wonders if they’ve been released in the wrong order. Curiosity has a winner, but like any typical Molyneux game, how much of a deal do we make of it? Then as we try and figure out used games, and mostly figure that despite what the NYU may think, publishers are too greedy to lower prices.

In games we’ve been playing this week, Jamie’s been playing a lot of games, Leo’s very impressed with Prison Architect and James gets a bit too excited about XCOM.
