Saints Row IV shows off it’s super powers and gets crazier in a teaser trailer released today.
Despite being a victim of the Great THQ Sell-Off of early 2013, Volition seems to have landed on their feet at Deep Silver and gone straight back to work on Saints Row IV, a game they announced today via Twitter.
What was originally imagined as a standalone expansion for Saints Row: The Third called “Enter the Dominatrix” became the basis for Saints Row IV after being re-purposed last year. “Enter the Dominatrix” featured the leader of the Saints being captured by an alien warlord and forced into a virtual reality simulation of Steelport.
How much of that will carry over to Saints Row IV is left to be seen, but the teaser trailer below shows all the sorts of high-jumping super powers, explosive guitar cases, censored man bits, over-the-top violence and ridiculous dancing we would expect from the sequel to one of the craziest games I’ve ever played.
They’ve set a release date of August 20th, 2013 for Saints Row IV and while no platforms have been announced one can assume it will be available on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 given it’s origins as a standalone expansion to the last game.
