Blizzard’s launch party for Heart of the Swarm lasts 24 hours and you can go in-person to four locations – five if you count the Internet!
Looking forward to the release of StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm? Yeah, you aren’t the only one and Blizzard knows that.
To celebrate, Blizzard has teamed up with the Team Liquid, the most well-known StarCraft community around, for a day of festivities leading up to the midnight release of Heart of the Swarm in California.
You can either join the party in person at official events in Melbourne, Seoul, Versailles and Irvine, CA or tune in at home for the stream on Twitch.TV. You can get the official schedule of live regional events on Blizzard’s official Heart of the Swarm launch page.
You can expect to see the top StarCraft II players compete in a “King of the Beta” tournament, as well as show matches, live demonstrations of new features, interviews with the developers behind the game and all sorts of other behind-the-scenes content. You can expect there will be appearances from well-known StarCraft personalities like TotalBiscuit, JP McDaniel, DJ Wheat, Day and more.
The event will run all day tomorrow, culminating at midnight for the launch of Heart of the Swarm.
For me, the StarCraft community (and even the game) is simultaneously fascinating and impenetrable. Maybe one day I’ll be good enough to actually get involved, but for now I’ll be content to just watch. It’s sure to be a good time.
