The fine folks over at Torn Banner Studios have just about doubled the content of the game in the latest free update.

We heard earlier this month that a large content update for Chivalry was headed for players by the end of January, and it looks like Torn Banner Studios managed to squeeze in the update just before time ran out.

According to their patch notes, the latest update for medieval warfare simulator Chivalry includes 13 new maps (10 of which take advantage of the new 1v1 Duel mode), 5 new weapons including flails, quarterstaffs and polearms, two new game modes (Duel and fan-favorite Capture the Flag) and a host of optimization and bug fixes. Oh, and last but not least, the ability to swing your weapon from left to right. If that doesn’t sound as exciting to you as it does to me, I don’t think you’ve played enough Chivalry.

You can check out the full patch notes at the official site and if you’re the kind of person who doesn’t believe everything they read on the Internet, feast your eyes on the announcement trailer below. See? I wasn’t lying.

If you’re undecided on Chivalry or I’ve piqued your interest, take a peek at BeefJack’s review over here.
