We heard during Nintendo Direct that the Wii U version of Super Smash Bros was going to be making it’s first appearance at E3, but there wasn’t a whisper about the 3DS version. Now there is.
As exciting as Nintendo Direct was, there was one facet missing for me. When they mentioned that the game in the Smash Bros series would be making its debut at E3, they were speaking about the Wii U version, and no mention whatsoever was made of the 3DS version. As someone who does not own a Wii U, the only way I’m going to get my fix is the 3DS version, so I was pretty worried at the lack of news.
Thankfully, the big boss in charge of the new Smash Bros’ development, Masahiro Sakurai, has taken to Twitter to clarify things. You may have noticed that Twitter feed was in Japanese. Thankfully IGN are around to save the day and translate. Apparently Sakurai says the following: ”Wii U and 3DS versions — I would like to show you both.”
Sakurai also mentions that he is sorry that the development of the game was announced so early and that, contrary to what was said at Nintendo Direct, there is the possibility that more than just screens will be shown. Bring on E3.
