News: Former People Can Fly developers, Adrian Chmielarz, Andrzej Poznanski, and Michal Kosieradzki, form new studio called The Astronauts. They are using Unreal Engine 3 and hoping to create unforgettable worlds.
Back in August, People Can Fly founder Adrian Chmielarz left the studio with Andrzej Paznanski, and Michal Koiseradzki, after working on Gears of War: Judgment. It’s October now, and they’ve spent their time forming a new studio called The Astronauts.
On their website, the three lay out why they wanted to name themselves after space explorers. It probably took them longer than they jest, but they want to take people to worlds they’ve never gone before and put their footprints in the game industry.
Though they aren’t a part of Epic any longer, they are still using the Unreal Engine 3 as their engine of choice. “We’ve worked with UE3 for the last six years, and we know its power,” said Adrian Chmielarz. “Choosing Unreal Engine technology for our future was the textbook definition of a no-brainer. We are on a quest to map uncharted waters, and Epic’s tech provides the stability required for success.”
The Astornaut devs have worked on Painkiller and Bulletstorm, which both scored well in reviews, and the latter receiving an 8.8 from us. We’ll keep you up to date with where The Astornauts will be landing.
