News: After 25 long years, US magazine Nintendo Power will be stopping publication.

The signature screech of a dial-up modem. Floppy discs. Nintendo Power magazine. To my generation just reading those words inspire nostalgia and head-nodding -  “Ah yeah, I remember that.” But to the younger generation, these things will mean nothing. According to sources speaking to Ars Technica, the Nintendo Power magazine will soon stop being published, much to the disappointment of many fans who grew up with it.

Nintendo Power first started circulating in 1988, making it one of the oldest game magazines in the US. But after 25 years, Nintendo has chosen not to renew the contract with current publisher Future Publishing. The team behind the magazine will be moved to other game magazine spots at Future Publishing. Meanwhile, a few writers promise that Nintendo Power’s last issue is sure to be a memorable one.
