News: A new Game Genie is being released by Hyperkin this year

A new Game Genie is being released this year. 2012. Seriously.

The Game Genie, designed for the PlayStation 3, is a USB save transfer device. Using a PC in conjunction with your PlayStation 3, you transfer saves and modify them with the Game Genie program, a database full of continually updated ‘game enhancements’.

Games listed to be supported are Batman: Arkham City, Uncharted 3, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Final Fantasy XIII-2.

The feature I’m most interested in is the listed “Ability to trade game save files with other players”. This could be potentially interesting, but it all depends on how easy it is to use the software?

The company behind the Game Genie, Hyperkin, said that any cheats relating to multiplayer gaming would be instantly removed from the database. Is anyone confident this will happen?

The Game Genie is out today priced at $29.99.
