News: The folks behind the Eurogamer Expo are planning Rezzed, a PC-only spinoff convention to held in Brighton for the first time this year.

PC gamers! Do you enjoy the annual Eurogamer Expo but are forced to fumble uselessly with the joypad thumbsticks provided by 95% of the games on the show floor? Luckily, Eurogamer have just announced Rezzed – it’s a show that features nothing but PC and indie titles, and will be held at the Brighton Centre from the 6th-7th of July.

Attractions include developer sessions by Creative Assembly (Total War series) and The Indie Stone (Project Zomboid), Aliens: Colonial Marines playable on the floor (with lots more to be announced), and The Leftfield Collection – a range of indie games co-curated by Rock, Paper Shotgun. Classic game tournaments (featuring Quake 2 and Duke Nukem 3D), retro arcade units, board games and a hardware vendor area will also make appearances.

Following last year’s hugely successful fourth Eurogamer Expo, we’re broadening our horizons for 2012 by introducing a new summer event to highlight the best of PC and indie games,” says Eurogamer’s MD Rupert Loman. “PC and indie games are enjoying huge success now after years in the ascendancy and we want to draw more attention to that fact and give people the opportunity to get up close to the biggest names and games before they’re released.
