Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has confirmed the existence of LEGO Batman 2, which will bring more brick-based crime fighting in summer 2012.

Batman and Robin will be joined by a number of other DC universe heroes in LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes, as the likes of Superman and the Green Lantern help to take down Lex Luthor and the Joker in the sequel to the biggest selling LEGO video game of all time.

TT Games are back in the development driving seat once again and look set to continue with the co-op action fun of previous LEGO games, which have seen such huge success thanks to their accessibility and charm.

In addition to a whole new story, you’ll be able to explore unseen areas of Gotham City in new vehicles such as the Batmobile and Batwing, make use of new gadgets and also experiment with a range of new abilities.

LEGO Batman 2 is set for release on nearly every platform imaginable from this summer, including Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PC, DS, 3DS and PS Vita.
